Why is this a survival recipe?
Baking a cake from a box doesn’t have to be lifeless, dry, and boring. By adding in the delicious classic butter-cream frosting that you can find on any sugar box, some deliciously fresh fruit and a little love, you’re sure to bake a perfect cake.
- 1 box of moist Chocolate Cake mix
- 6 large Strawberries
- 1/2 medium Banana
- 3-3/4 cup of Sugar
- 1/2 cup of Butter
- 3-2 tbsp Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
For the Butter Cream Frosting:
Step one: In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, butter, milk and vanilla until creamy; set aside
For the Cake:
Step one: Prepare your cake as directed on the package; this should make two layers. Allow the cake layers to cool completely, or it will melt your frosting.
Step two: Cover the top of the first layer thinly with your butter cream frosting
Step three: Slice five out of six of your strawberries into thin pieces , and slice your banana into thin slices; place your fruit evenly on the butter cream frosted cake layer
Step Four: Frost your second layer, then place it frosting side down on top of the first
Step Five: Frost the entire cake using a butter knife, and place your final strawberry in the center of your cake!
Step six: Cut into your delicious cake and enjoy 🙂
