Why is this a survival recipe?
I love cheese, and adding some breading and dipping it in salsa is just amazing. It’s so easy to make them, and it only takes five minutes for perfectly baked mozzarella sticks.
Ingredients:
- 2 Mozzarella Sticks, frozen
- 1 Egg, beaten
- Salt/Pepper to taste
- 1 splash of Milk
- 1/4 cup of Breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup of Parmesan Cheese
Step one: Freeze your mozzarella sticks completely. If you don’t they’ll melt all over your cookie sheet and while you’ll have fried cheese you’ll also have a big mess.
Step two: Preheat your oven to 400; beat your egg, salt, pepper, and milk together
Step three: Mix together your parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs evenly
Step four: QUICKLY dip your mozzarella sticks in the egg wash, then coat them evenly in the breadcrumb mixture. If you handle the cheese too long it will get warm and melt.
Step five: Spray your cookie sheet and bake your cheese for 3 MINUTES ONLY on one side; take them out, flip them and return them to the oven for 2 MORE MINUTES. Any longer and they will melt.
Step six: Serve with salsa or marinara sauce and enjoy!
